Procedures Performed By Dr. Saboeiro

Facelift (Rhytidectomy) and Neck lift (Mini-facelift)

A facelift is designed to improve the visible signs of aging of the face and neck, including drooping cheeks, an irregular jaw line, and jowls. The neck lift is a mini version of the facelift, concentrating only on the jaw line and neck. As we age, we lose elasticity in our skin and volume in our face, resulting in the descent of the facial tissues. Facelifts and neck lifts do not halt the aging process, but they can turn back the clock several years. This is accomplished by removing or replacing selective areas of fat and tightening and redraping the skin.

These procedures do not address the fine lines and wrinkles in your skin. Proper skin care and chemical peels may be of benefit if the surface of your skin is not smooth. In addition, the facelift and neck lift do not address the upper face and eyes. You may want to consider these areas at the same time as the surgery on your lower face.

If laxity of the facial skin is not severe, a non-invasive treatment called Thermage may be an option. This involves using radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin without the need for incisions. Ask your plastic surgeon if you are a candidate for Thermage.
