About the Facelift Procedure

Surgeons usually camouflage facelift incisions within hair lines, around the ears or in natural creases already in the body. They then pull up and tighten the muscles under your skin, trim off the excess and then suture everything in place with a keen eye for aesthetic beauty.

Dr. Saboeiro gets natural-looking results for her many patients using that longer procedure. Moreover, several shorter facial rejuvenations are available in addition to the full face lift. And while some patients are on the table, they choose to have other procedures - like upper and lower eyelid surgery, injectable fillers or fat transfer.

Most facelifts take two to three hours, depending on complexity. Many more patients who undergo facelift in New York City, Manhattan and elsewhere are opting to forego general anesthesia and have a local, sometimes with I.V. sedation.

After a facelift, swelling typically disappears within a few days while most bruises are gone within a few weeks. Results usually last seven or more years.
